PAST SEASON. IN SEASON. NO SEASON.
The fashion industry is in a flux. Many are campaigning for an in-season calendar. Fashion weeks are going digital – London Fashion Week, which is currently in progress is also gender-less, fusing both menswear and womenswear – and sustainability is even more at the forefront than before. With this in mind, I wanted MONOCHROME.style’s first shoot to think about fashion waste: how we can utilise past-season luxury in a way that feels fresh, feminine and fearless. To do so, I called upon a talented girl gang of fashion creatives out here in Dubai. We took to an Umm Suqeim villa – with all its storied glory, it felt like the perfect backdrop for our Dries Van Noten, Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney, Attico and Miu Miu fashion finds, courtesy of stylist Laura Jane Brown. To me, the future of fashion isn’t in-season thinking. Nor past-season dressing. It’s sustainability. Sustainable fashion sees no season…
